The CEO of Meta the company that owns the social media platform WhatsApp Mark Zuckerberg has announced a new update to the app. Users will now be able to use the same account on four different mobile devices. On his social media accounts, Zuckerberg made the announcement, stating that users will soon be able to use the new feature. Users can now sign in to a similar WhatsApp account on up to four phones.
Messages will be able to be synced between smartphones and other devices thanks to this new feature. In the past, WhatsApp users were limited to using the same account on a single smartphone and multiple computers. With over two billion users worldwide, WhatsApp is a popular messaging app.
Meta has been chipping away at multi-gadget similarity for the beyond two years, and this new component is important for that work. Meta has been working on new technology that lets messages sync between multiple devices without compromising encryption from beginning to end.
WhatsApp users have long wanted to be able to use the same account on multiple phones, and the company has finally delivered. In the past, WhatsApp users were able to log in from other devices, like a PC, but the new feature makes it possible to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple phones at the same time.
WhatsApp claims that users will be able to connect up to four additional Android and iOS devices in addition to the primary one. The original device does not need to be active because these devices will connect to servers independently of one another. However, all companion devices will be logged out if the primary device is inactive for an extended period of time.
