Google Calendar Now Works with AI Mode
Google has added Google Calendar to Personal Intelligence in AI Mode. Users in the US can presently utilize the service.
With this modification, AI Mode will be able to access your Google Calendar and give customized responses. Additionally, it can directly add appointments, meeting invites, and new events to your calendar.
Smarter Answers Based on Your Schedule
Earlier, AI Mode could only use information from apps like Gmail and Google Photos to answer questions. Now, with Calendar connected, it can also check your schedule before giving a response.
For example, if you ask for restaurant suggestions for tonight, AI Mode can see whether you already have plans. If your evening is free, it may recommend places you can visit. If you already have a meeting or event, it can suggest another time instead.
This makes the answers more useful and personal.
The First App That Can Add Events
Google Calendar is the first Personal Intelligence app that can do more than provide information.
It can also create calendar events for you. If someone sends you a meeting invitation, AI Mode can add it to your calendar without requiring you to do it yourself.
How Personal Intelligence Has Grown
Google first introduced Personal Intelligence earlier this year for paid subscribers.
Later, it became available to free users in the United States.
In May, Google expanded the feature to nearly 200 countries and 98 languages, although the new Calendar connection is still limited to users in the U.S.
Why This Update Matters
This update means that two people asking the same question may receive different answers.
For example, if two users search for dinner ideas, AI Mode may suggest different restaurants depending on each person’s calendar. Someone with a busy evening could receive different recommendations than someone with no plans.
As Google connects more apps to Personal Intelligence, search results are expected to become even more personalized.
What Happens Next?
When the Calendar feature will be accessible outside of the US has not yet been disclosed by Google.
In the future, more Google apps are anticipated to be connected by the firm, making AI Mode even more beneficial by utilizing data from various services to deliver responses that more closely align with each user’s everyday life.
