NextSlide made a big announcement recently. The presentation startup is joining OpenAI. Its team members are now working directly on ChatGPT.
The news is confirmed on the NextSlide website. It currently displays a note from founder Ahmed Beshry. In that note, he describes what the startup actually built. He calls it a tool that could turn prompts, notes, documents, or research into something specific. That output was a polished, editable presentation.
Beshry explained the bigger goal behind NextSlide. He said the mission was to make visual communication more accessible. He also wanted to help more people express their ideas clearly. Now, by joining OpenAI, the team plans to continue that same mission.
According to Beshry, they’ll keep building AI products. The focus stays the same. These tools should help people create, communicate, and turn their ideas into real, meaningful work.
The financial details of this deal remain private. No terms have been disclosed publicly. Beshry addressed the timing of the announcement too. He shared this update in a note on LinkedIn. He admitted the announcement is coming a bit late. According to Beshry, the actual acquisition happened earlier this year, several months before this public reveal.
This isn’t Beshry’s first successful exit, either. He previously co-founded Caper AI. That startup built smart carts and cashier-less checkout technology. Instacart acquired Caper AI back in 2021.
