PTA shared this warning through a public alert. According to the authority, cybercriminals are using several tactics. That includes fake emails. It includes text messages. Phone calls are being used as well. The goal is tricking people into sharing sensitive information. That includes passwords. It also includes banking details. These fraudulent messages often look genuine. Many try to pressure recipients into acting immediately.
PTA offered clear advice to citizens. People should verify the source of any unexpected communication first. This applies before responding to a message. It applies before clicking any link. It also applies before sharing any information. Citizens should be especially cautious with urgent messages. That’s particularly true for messages requesting payments. It’s also true for messages asking for account details.

PTA issued several additional warnings too. Citizens should avoid clicking unknown shortened links. They should avoid suspicious pop-ups as well. Downloading files from unverified sources is risky. Opening suspicious messages carries risk too.
According to PTA, citizens should never share certain information with anyone. That includes one-time passwords (OTPs). It includes regular passwords. PINs and financial information should stay private as well.
To strengthen account security, PTA offered practical recommendations. Citizens should use strong, unique passwords for each account. They should also enable two-factor authentication wherever it’s available. PTA emphasized reporting suspicious communications too. Citizens should use official channels for these reports. This helps authorities respond effectively to cyber fraud. It also helps address other emerging security threats.
