Apple has launched its brand-new M5 chip, along with updated versions of the iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro.
These new devices are now open for preorder. Shipping and in-store availability begin on October 22.

A Major Boost in Power
The M5 chip makes Apple’s latest devices much faster than before. According to Apple, it delivers four times more GPU performance compared to the M4 chip.
Johny Srouji, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Technologies, said the chip “ushers in the next big leap in AI performance for Apple silicon.”

iPad Pro Gets Faster and Smarter
The new iPad Pro gets a big upgrade with the M5 chip. Apple says it offers up to 3.5 times more AI performance than last year’s model and up to 5.6 times faster than the iPad Pro with the M1 chip.
It also comes with the new C1X cellular modem, which gives 50% faster mobile data, and the N1 chip for stronger Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread connections.
Storage speeds are faster too, and charging is improved; you can reach 50% battery in just 30 minutes.
Apple is clearly aiming to make the iPad Pro more like a laptop. The new iPadOS 26 adds better multitasking, the Preview app, and custom folders for easy organization.
Prices start at $999 for the 11-inch model and $1,299 for the 13-inch version. You can choose between black and silver colors.
The New MacBook Pro
The 14-inch MacBook Pro also gets the new M5 chip. It’s faster and more powerful than before, with up to 1.6x better graphics performance and 153 Gbps of memory bandwidth (up from 120 Gbps on the M4).
Storage is quicker, and battery life lasts up to 24 hours, the longest ever for a MacBook Pro.
It starts at $1,599 and comes in space black and silver.

Vision Pro with M5 Chip
Apple’s Vision Pro headset now includes the M5 chip too, replacing the M2.
The upgrade offers a 10% boost in display rendering, supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and enhances AI features by 50%.
Battery life is also better, now up to 2.5 hours for regular use or 3 hours of video playback.
The new Vision Pro includes a Dual Knit Band for a more comfortable fit and comes in small, medium, and large sizes.
The price remains at $3,499.
This update comes as Apple is reportedly shifting its focus toward developing smart glasses, rather than major updates to its VR headset.
