Govt Launches Operations For 7th Digital Agricultural Census

PBS announced operations that are a part of the Government of Pakistan’s 7th digital agriculture census. 

The operation was conducted in Islamabad by Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan’s planning minister, who assigned the task to enumerators for effective data collection. The task was also exemplified in Muzaffarabad, Karachi, Peshawar, and Lahore.

The census will be conducted from the beginning of 2023 till February 10, 2025. It is expected to involve 7,686 enumerators and trained supervisors across the country. Their support will ensure that farmers can secure food in the long term and develop policies around crop patterns.

Private and Federal organizations across the country have come together to take part in this initiative.

The census was launched for the province of Punjab by the Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur in Lahore.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir minister started operations in Muzaffarabad, Sindh’s planning minister commenced operations in Karachi, and the KPK agricultural minister initiated the census from Peshawar.

The 7th Census employs geo-information system tools and other digital applications for real-time oversight. It is expected to contribute to the formulation of agricultural policies that will resolve future food security challenges.
