TikTok is known for video sharing, it’s now set to compete with WhatsApp directly. Yes, the top messaging app might soon face competition from TikTok.
The app has announced two big updates for messaging: group chats and stickers.
In addition to group chats, TikTok now provides one-on-one chatting. A user’s group can contain up to 32 members. Members of these groups can talk, share, and remark on videos.
However, the 13 to 15-year-olds age will not be allowed to take part in conversations in groups. There are limitations, but 16 to 17-year-olds can utilize the service. They can only join a group chat if their friends (both must follow each other) invite them. If they receive a link to a group chat, they can’t join unless a friend is already in it.
TikTok will let users mute and block others in any group chat. They can also report messages or entire groups if they break the rules.
Additionally, TikTok is adding stickers to direct messages. Users can create their stickers or choose from existing ones to share in messages and videos.
