The U.S. English Access Scholarship Program for 2024 has been launched by the U.S. Consulate General located in Karachi. Through this program, young people in Pakistan can get better at English. It will offer classes to 200 students, focusing on skills they need to succeed in today’s global world.

What is the English Access Scholarship Program

The U.S. Department of State launched the international English Access Microscholarship Program to assist teenagers (ages 13 to 20) from low-income families in obtaining opportunities in work, education, and life in general.

Access helps students compete, join future exchanges, and improve their English skills. It also supports those aiming to study in the US. Since 2004, nearly 95,000 students from over 85 countries have participated.

At the event, Consul General Scott Urbom stressed the program’s role in creating new opportunities for the students. He said, “Improving their English opens doors for better academic and career chances.” This program teaches English and promotes learning about American culture.

CG Urbom thanked the teachers, coordinators, and the team at Evolution, the group running the program. He also appreciated the academic partners like Sindh Madressatul Islam University, University of Sufism and Modern Sciences Bhitshah, and Sindh Agriculture University, Umerkot. This two-year program, supported by the U.S. Mission in Pakistan’s Regional English Language Office, gives English training through extra classes. It is for talented but financially struggling students aged 13 to 20. The goals are to:
