With more than 1.5 million users all over the world, WhatsApp, the world’s biggest instant messaging app has been constantly rolling out new features every since Facebook acquired the app.
Facebook owned app, WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature on Android phones that allows the users to watch videos within the messaging platform without leaving the app.
The new featured is discovered by WABetaInfo, a website that keeps close eye on latest, upcoming WhatsApp features. According to the report, the Picture-in-picture or PiP allows users to watch the videos in a floating window that stays on top of another window. This new feature effectively helps users to play videos hosted on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Streamable within the app.
This feature is not new but was not rolled out on all versions. The feature was first introduced in the beta version for Android phones. The update is rolled out in the WhatsApp version 2.18.280. and can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
The video mode can also be switched to a full-screen view, can be dragged anywhere within the app.
