A forthcoming WhatsApp update aims to make sharing content across various platforms more seamless. This feature is currently undergoing testing, and you can access it by downloading the most recent update from the Google Play Store.
The update, part of the Android 2.24.25.20 version, will enable users to forward messages and media directly to other Meta-owned platforms and third-party apps like Snapchat and X, as reported by WABetaInfo. A newly designed bottom navigation bar is being introduced to simplify cross-platform sharing.
With this enhanced functionality, users will be able to send photos, videos, and GIFs directly to Instagram and Facebook. They will also be able to create stories on these apps by selecting media from WhatsApp chats, eliminating the need to download files first.
In addition, WhatsApp is working on expanding these capabilities to include sharing with X and Snapchat, pushing the boundaries of cross-app integration within its ecosystem.
To broaden the range of supported platforms, a “More” option will be incorporated, allowing users to forward content to a variety of other applications. This innovative approach aims to make sharing across different services faster and more efficient.
