Google Gemini was available on GenAI.mil when the platform first debuted. The system allows defense personnel to utilize leading commercial AI solutions safely. It prevents classified or confidential government information from leaking into standard public software networks. Crucially, the military platforms bypass the routine data harvesting practices found in public consumer software applications.
Defense officials report strong adoption rates across the platform. Over 1.7 million individual users have accessed GenAI.mil out of the total 3 million eligible personnel within the organization.
