OpenAI is preparing a major update to ChatGPT. The goal is to turn it into a superapp that combines coding tools, AI agents, and third-party services on a single platform. The shift moves ChatGPT beyond a chatbot role into a broader work system.

Superapp Direction

Desktop Integration Plan

IPO Preparation
The ChatGPT overhaul links with OpenAI’s move toward a public listing. The company is preparing confidential IPO filings. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are involved in the process.
A filing could allow a listing as early as September. The timeline is not fixed. Sam Altman has said timing depends on market conditions and company readiness.
Codex and AI Agents Focus
The redesign highlights coding, image generation, and agent workflows. OpenAI also plans to add partner services like Canva and Booking Holdings. These additions let users complete more tasks inside ChatGPT.
The company also targets stronger enterprise growth. Business users bring higher revenue than consumer users. OpenAI wants to expand its position in that market.
