Smart Ring Maker Ultrahuman Launches AI Biological-Age Model in the UAE Market

Ultrahuman Launches AI Biological-Age Model in the UAE Market

Ultrahuman is a health technology startup based in Bengaluru. The company is best known for manufacturing smart wearable rings. It has now partnered with Abu Dhabi health authorities to create a biological-age model. The startup intends to offer this feature to people across the United Arab Emirates.

On Monday, Ultrahuman announced a two-year memorandum of understanding. They signed the agreement with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center. Together, both entities will develop and validate the aging model.

The system will blend clinical biomarkers with real-time data from wearable tech. The partnership seeks to calculate how quickly an individual’s body ages. It will highlight specific factors that influence aging speed. These factors include sleep patterns, physical activity, heart health, and metabolism.

Moving Beyond Wearable Hardware

This agreement represents Ultrahuman’s latest push beyond selling basic hardware. The startup wants to deploy its health algorithms on a massive global scale. CEO Mohit Kumar discussed this strategy in a recent interview.

He explained that Ultrahuman views itself primarily as a health-data company. The smart ring acts as a reliable tool to capture raw biological signals. That incoming data powers advanced algorithms covering human aging and longevity.

Kumar emphasized that the hardware form factor is only the starting point. The primary focus centers on extracting actionable intelligence from the data. Working with a government body gives Ultrahuman access to a much broader population. That scope extends far past its existing customer base.

The startup has sold roughly 800,000 smart rings worldwide to date. This Abu Dhabi initiative is Ultrahuman’s first step toward nationwide algorithm deployment. The company aims to make the final health-age model available across the whole UAE.

Device Agnostic Model and Public Digital Access

Ultrahuman gained fame through its smart ring device. However, the new biological-age model is designed to be wearable-agnostic. The system can process data from rings, wristbands, chest straps, and skin patches. It combines those wearable metrics directly with clinical lab results.

Citizens will eventually access their personalized health age through official government digital channels. These public platforms include TAMM and Sahatna. Ultrahuman and local authorities will spend two years on joint research and clinical validation work. Kumar confirmed that the broader public rollout will take place in structured phases. He did not provide a specific release timeline.

Market Footprint and Demographic Reach in the UAE

The UAE represents one of Ultrahuman’s top ten international markets. The country generates about 4% to 5% of the company’s total overall revenue. The startup has operated within the region for nearly five years. Customer retention rates in the UAE run 25% higher than in other global regions.

A government health system offers a much wider demographic view than private consumer sales. Ultrahuman’s typical hardware customer falls between 25 and 43 years old. Deploying the model across the UAE will expose its software to a far broader range of age brackets.

Algorithm Training and Data Privacy Guidelines

The underlying biological-age model relied on Ultrahuman’s historical data pool during development. It combined chronological user ages with wearable sensor readings. Select user entries also included verified blood panel markers. This foundation helps the model map out standard aging patterns over time. It quickly identifies unusual health deviations from expected biological baselines.

Kumar stressed that the algorithm will not train on private data collected within the UAE. Instead, Ultrahuman will deploy its existing algorithm directly onto UAE data sets. He added that Ultrahuman will not have access to any personally identifiable information during the initiative.

Competitive Landscape and Future Hardware Vision

Ultrahuman is not the only wearable maker partnering with regional health authorities. The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi announced a separate deal with main competitor Oura. That collaboration combines wearable tracking with long-term regional health data. Their primary initial focus targets women’s health and cardiometabolic risks.

Kumar stated that Ultrahuman is not aware of other entities developing this specific health-age model with Abu Dhabi. He acknowledged that local authorities work alongside multiple health tech vendors. However, he declined to comment on the specific scope of competitor projects.

These dual agreements occur as both firms compete for smart ring market share. Both companies want to push past basic fitness tracking into preventive health services. Meanwhile, Ultrahuman is already developing next-generation smart ring hardware. The company aims to create onboard software capable of running localized AI interactions and mobile gaming.
